Modern design + Rustic Accents = Simply Beautiful
Clean simple design with neutral colors and warm rustic or craftsman accents remains one of the more popular design choices when remodeling a home today. Combining these 2 styles in a home built in the 70’s can truly make it feel like a new home.
Unfortunately this house was a victim of the horrible spring flooding that hit the Houston area last year and destroyed so many homes. But on the bright side, the damage was limited to just the downstairs and this gave the owners the opportunity to make some changes to their home they had been wanting to make for some time.
The home was originally built in 1973 and with the exception of the master bedroom and bathroom, most of the changes to the interior had only been cosmetic. The kitchen, breakfast, dining and living room floor areas had remained largely as
they were when they were built.
For this project we not only restored and repaired the house due to the water damage, but completely remodeled the kitchen/breakfast rooms, installed new cabinets, granite countertops and built custom wine and china cabinets.
Other work included:
- Replaced all galvanized plumbing with PEX piping.
- New electrical wiring downstairs and recessed lighting
- New appliances
- New custom front door
- Installed all new Simonton ProFinish vinyl windows
- Installed 5″ hand scraped hardwood flooring
- Remodeled utility room and powder bath.
- Repaint complete
